The brand was created by José Fernández Rocha in 1902. It was named after Simon Bolivar, the famous liberator of South America from Spanish colonial rule in the early 19th century. It was officially registered in 1921 with its headquarters in Havana. After the death of JF Roche, the Bolivar brand as well as the La Gloria Cubana brand were sold to the Cifuentes family in 1954. At that time, production was moved to the Partagas factory. Today, not all Bolivar cigars are made in the Partagas factory, but Partagas is still the main factory of the Bolivar brand.

This brand did not exist before the Revolution. A certain newcomer Perez, popularly known as Chicho, became the head of Fidel Castro's entourage after the Revolution. Chicho offered him a cigar rolled by his friend Eduardo Rivera. Castro immediately liked the cigar and asked Rivera to make more. Fidel's anonymous cigar soon became a legend. These cigars were given to foreign diplomats as early as 1964, when they still did not have a name or their own label. Due to that shortcoming, the labels bore the names of the officials who owned them. At that time, a smaller factory was established on an older rural estate for the production of those cigars. Cigars still didn't have a name. During a conversation in 1966, F. Castro's personal assistant, Celia Sanchez, named them Cohiba. The name Cohiba comes from the ancient word of the Taino Indians for bundles of tobacco leaves, which Columbo first saw Cubans smoking in a shape similar to today's cigars. Tobacco sheets for Cohiba cigars are "chosen from the chosen" from the Vuelto Abajo region.

This brand did not exist before the Revolution. It specializes in figurado cigars. Double figurado - the hardest style of rolling a cigar. They are rolled only by Torcedores of the highest rank. The figurado form was very popular before the Revolution, but for some reason it slowly lost its popularity, and in 1996 Habanos SA decided to revitalize this form of cigar, creating the Cuaba brand. Officially launched on 19 November 1996 at the famous Claridge's Hotel in London by F. Linares (then President Habanos). This is the first new brand introduced after Cohiba in 1982. Maestro roller skater CI Gonzalez, supervisor of 14 roller skates of these cigars, came especially to London to demonstrate the art of rolling Perfecto cigar rolls. The name Cuaba refers to a wooden torch that was still used by the natives. Today, Cubans in the villages still use them. Cuaba, like Cohiba, is a word used by the Taino Indians for a highly flammable shrub used to light their "cohiba", dating back to Columbus' time. All sizes are medium to full strength. A mixture of Filler and Binder are leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region, Tripa Larga (from whole tobacco leaves), Totalmente a Mano (completely handmade). Cuaba cigarettes are produced in the Briones Montoto factory (Romeo y Julieta). They taste similar to R&J cigars, but in a way a little milder.

In 1892, E. Fonseca opened a factory in Havana where he produced cigars that bore his name. It was a humble beginning. The brand was registered in 1907. Fonseca was a cigar expert. Soon, due to great success, he was forced to open a new factory in 1911 at another location. Fonseca believed that "Fonseca" would be the first brand to produce cigars wrapped in fine Japanese paper and packed in aluminum tubes. That was in 1910, 30 years before other manufacturers began packing their cigars in aluminum tubes. Fonseca died in 1930 and his wife continued to run his factory. The brand is very well known in Spain and for the most part in Canada. Fonseca cigars are mild in taste, medium in strength and high in quality. They have a uniquely luxurious taste without the need to age for a long time. Mild strength and aromatic taste make Fonseca an ideal cigar for beginners. Hermann Upmann was a German banker who came to Havana with his family in 1840. Brothers Hermann and August Upman opened the H. Upmann Cigar Factory in Havana in 1844. In the same year, meanwhile, Herman's nephews Alberto and Herman founded a commercial bank in Havana and merged it with the H. Upmann cigarette. There are two versions of the name H. Don Jose de Gener y Batet was a Spaniard who emigrated to Cuba at the age of 13. He worked on his uncle's plantation in the Vuelta Abajo region. In the 1850s, Jose Gener opened a new factory in Havana, where he later created a new brand - La Escepcion, which was very successful. In the 1860s Jose Gener used the capital created to buy the best farms and plantations in the Vuelta Abajo region where he founded the Hoyo de Monterrey, a low-lying position of plantations on the fertile banks of the San Juan y Martinez River. The Hoyo de Monterrey brand was registered in 1865. Hoyo de Monterrey cigars are characterized by their soft, sweet style. The mixture of tobacco is creamy sweet, mild and aromatic. Don Jaime Partagas Ravello was a Spaniard who came to Cuba and worked in the tobacco business in the early 19th century. In 1845, he built a large factory called Real Fabrica de Tobacco Partagas (Royal Tobacco Factory Partagas). This is the famous Partagas factory that we know today. It is the oldest cigar factory in Cuba that is still in operation. Today's fame and popularity have not faded in the slightest compared to what it was in the pre-revolutionary days. This brand was registered in 1834 by Ignacio Larranaga. The very name "Por Larranaga" means from Larranaga. At the end of the 19th century, Por Larranaga was already a well-known premium brand, a favorite among the rich and famous. In addition to producing expensive cigarettes, the brand also makes cheaper cigarettes for average consumers. Por Larranaga was the first factory to start producing machine-made cigars in 1925, which resulted in a boycott of workers. The original name by which the city of Havana was baptized when it was founded in 1519 was San Cristobal de La Habana. "San Cristobal" in honor of the saint of the day when the city was founded, and Havana after the Indian name of the place. The San Cristobal de La Habana brand was launched in 1999 in honor of the city's long history, at the dawn of the new millennium. It first entered the market with a series of four vitolas, whose names correspond to the names of the fortresses located in the city, which the Spaniards built between the 16th and 18th centuries to defend the square from possible attacks: El Morro, La Fuerza, La Punta and El Principe. El Morro and La Fuerza correspond to kitchen winches that are present only in this brand. In 2004, the Vitolario brand was expanded to Mercaderes, Oficios and Murallas, which are well-known street names in the historic city center, Old Havana. All winches are made entirely by hand with a long filler, with filler and coat sheets from the Vuelta Abajo area. They are characterized by a mild to medium taste mixture.

Originally introduced to the market in 1996 as a full-body brand, Vegueros was a tribute to countless generations of men and women who grew tobacco on the world-famous Pinar del Rio plantations. The brand was re-launched in 2013 with a slightly lighter mixture of medium body in new sizes and presented in unique cans of 16 cigars. Since then, packs of 4 cigars have been introduced. Vegueros is translated into English as "farmers" and these cigars have gladly retained their rustic advantage. The names of each new winemaker were also inspired by the vocabulary of Cuban farmers, and "Centrofinos" is no exception. Centro Fino is a classification for sunflower leaves grown in the middle of the plant. They generally represent Seco leaves in a Havana cigar blend and are prized for their satisfying taste and aroma.
