Description

The distillery is located in the northeastern part of Taiwan. The location was chosen for its sweet and soft water as well as its subtropical climate, which is ideal for whiskey production. The name Kavalan comes from the tribe that first settled in Taiwan, while the shape of the bottle resembles Taiwan's tallest building - Taipei 101. Kavalan itself has a dominant aroma of mango and is matured in six different types of barrels. New bourbon barrels are used, then used bourbon barrels, sherry casks, red wine casks from Spain and two different white wine casks from Portugal. It is considered to be the best-selling whiskey in Taiwan and has won many medals in various competitions.
